Station Five is located in an industrial / commercial area of Alameda Point; the former Naval Air Station - Alameda. Opened in 1997 after the closure of the Navy base, this single engine company station cross-staffs an ambulance and a Technical Rescue Vehicle. Station Five protects the entire Alameda Point area (approximately three square miles), including the Alameda Gateway Ferry Terminal and the USS Hornet Museum, and also responds to fires and other major emergencies throughout the western end of Alameda.
